THE MAGIC OF THE FA CUP - LIVERPOOL FC

Liverpool were (and still are) a feared and respected name in English football who came to prominence in the 60s, and for almost 30 years were simply a class above any other team in the country.

The Magic Of The FA Cup – Liverpool is (as with all of these The Magic Of The FA Cup releases) split into three sections. These are:
The Greatest Games
The Stars
The Ultimate Goals

The Greatest Games (CD 1)
This is a collection of extensive highlights from 8 of Liverpool’s best FA Cup victories, which runs for a little over 83 minutes.

A nice collection of games here I’m sure any Liverpool fan will appreciate. A couple of Merseyside derby wins against arch-rival Everton, the 2001 Cup Final come-from-behind win against Arsenal (video quality wise that game looks absolutely fantastic), and some other solid performances, help make this a good selection.

The Stars (CD 2)
50 of the very best players from the Red half of Merseyside are profiled. This piece includes names such as John Barnes, Robbie Fowler (why they got rid of him still mystifies me), Steve McManaman, Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen, Steve Heighway, Peter Beardsley and the legendary Welsh goal marvel Ian Rush.
Fans should love going through this piece which runs for over 75 minutes.

The Ultimate Goals (CD 3)
A staggering century of goals (even the chapter stops can’t go that high!) that the mighty Reds have scored in FA Cup competition is presented here. There are some absolutely glorious finishes on offer here (better than the Manchester United release), but with the strike force that Liverpool have had over the past 3 decades, it really is little surprise as the likes of Owen, Fowler, Rush, Aldridge, Collymore, and Beardsley, put the ball in the back of the net in ways most of us can only dream of.
